I am really interested in growing my business. How can you help?
We use strategic
planning techniques to help you grow your business. See the next
answer for more.
Tell me more about
strategic planning. How would that work?
We look at your
business to see where you are today. We analyze your current operations
and financials. We talk to your employees and
key customers.
Next, we look at your
business environment- what is going on in your industry, what are the
trends, what are your competitors doing?
We then help you set
your business goals. And we provide you with ideas to help reach those goals.
The ideas might be
revenue generating – how to find new customers, how to sell more to
existing customers, what changes to make to existing products, what new
products are needed, which new geographic areas to enter.
The ideas might
also be expense reducing – how to operate more efficiently, ways to reduce
costs.
We work with
you to develop these plans. If you prefer, we work with you to make the
changes.
We tailor our
work to your needs and modularize what we do so that you can pick and
choose where you want our involvement.
We provide marketing plans and
business plans.

What types of processes do
you evaluate?
We look at some or all of your business
processes ranging from product development to customer service to billing.
We identify process changes
to improve cycle time, reduce errors, and improve customer satisfaction.

How is process improvement different from business process re-engineering?
The business terms "process
improvement," "business process re-engineering," and "business
process design" are used interchangeably.

How do you analyze
markets?
We examine your
business environment- what is going on in your industry, what are the
trends, what are your competitors doing? We use secondary or primary
research, or a combination of both.
In
secondary market research, we comb through existing sources of information
about your market by conducting literature searches in trade journals,
periodicals, and government and industry databases - and provide you with
a concise report. We identify existing market research from the top firms
and provide you with recommendations of the reports that will best meet
your needs.
During primary
market research, we elicit information and insights about your company and
your industry through direct contacts with your current and potential
customers, competitors, and suppliers.
We develop
customer loyalty surveys and interview your customers.
We research a
specific topic that you have wanted to know more about but just haven’t
had the time to research.
We provide
analysis of specific competitors – what are they up to, what prices are
they charging, what new products do they have?
We can develop a complete marketing
plan or focus on one area needing improvement.

How are
Strategic Planning and Market Analysis different?
Strategic Planning looks at the
whole picture – both your company and the marketplace. It takes the
business process from beginning to end. It includes a look at your company
and the business environment, it helps you set your goals, and it helps
you to achieve those goals.
Market Analysis
focuses on your business environment or a specific issue you want
researched.

Why
would I use workshop services? What can you do for me?
Enhance problem
solving skills
We create
workshops where we select typical problems that arise in your business and
work through the answers with your employees. These workshops will build
employee skills in solving other problems by giving them tools – not
answers.
Expand knowledge
of competitors
We create
workshops where we research competitors in advance and then set up
scenarios where your employees role-play different competitive
situations. This helps employees get that “aha!” that makes the
information real and helps it stick. This type of workshop is often
called “war gaming”.
Increase
business acumen
We create
workshops in which we educate employees about the goals of the business and
issues that it faces. This arms employees with the knowledge to make
better day-to-day decisions because they understand the big picture. This
also helps them understand decisions that are made by the business.
We facilitate
dialogues between the executive team and the employees – and focus on goal
sharing and information sharing. Employees feel more a part of the
business when they know what is going on. This type of workshop is often
called a “town hall meeting.”
Other
Have another type
of workshop in mind? We have extensive experience developing and
facilitating all sorts of meetings – describe what you are looking for and
we can do it!

Tell me more
about regulatory analysis.
Government
regulations affect every business, large or small. Understanding
changes in regulation and assessing the impact on your business can
sometimes be a full-time job -- a vital one, but one which takes you
away from the important business of serving customers.
We will work
with you to identify the regulatory environment of your business. We
will help you understand the impact of regulatory policy on your
business and we can even provide regular updates on changes in
regulation, to keep you and your employees informed. We will help
"de-mystify" regulatory developments by translating regulatory jargon
into plain English, taking you to the important next step of determining
what it really means to you, and recommending the actions you should
take to shape and thrive within your regulatory environment.

What type of
marketing communications do you do?
We work with
you to understand what media and message are appropriate for your business.
We discuss what
marketing communications you have done in the past. What did you like and not like?
What worked and didn’t work?
We provide a
unified look for your business including logo and tagline.
We develop key
messages for marketing your products and services.
We design and
write a new web site or modify an existing web site.
We design and
write brochures, mailers, and business cards.

I am interested - what
do we do next?
Contact us.
We visit your company or communicate by telephone or e-mail to get a more detailed understanding of how
Insight Consulting can help your business.
Then, we give
you a written proposal that lists what work we will perform, the timeline,
the deliverables, and the price.
We both
sign the proposal before work begins.

page
What will this cost me?
It really depends
on what work you want performed.
We charge on a
project basis so that price will not change unless we agree in writing
that additional work will be performed and agree on the cost.
A marketing piece like a brochure
might cost several hundred dollars and a marketing plan a few thousand.
Because we have low business overhead, we can keep our prices very
competitive.
Depending on the
length of the project, we usually request a 50% retainer and 50% when the
project is completed. For a
longer project, we bill monthly.
Payment is usually due
within 10 days of receipt of our invoice.
Insight Consulting accepts Visa,
MasterCard, and Discover.
